Crush stalking

I'm so freaking happy about Facebook's inability to let the users know who has viewed their page. I am also happy that, unless you had time to modify your account settings, your contacts have almost complete knowledge of what you are doing or saying to your other pals.

I hearts Facebook!

Why? Because I get to stalk my crush, whom, I think, do not remember me anymore (but I swear we've met once or twice years ago), without his knowledge. I'm super happy (and kinikilig) it's gross.

Oh boy

I found out today my grade in NatSci3 (the one I got an INC and the cause of my not graduating). And it was a shining 1.75. Amazing, right? It made my GPA stay at 1.6 or 1.7, still making me a College Scholar.

College Scholar. On my last semester in college. Wow. And I was overloaded with my 21 units from the regular 18 units per sem rule. Wow. I think I still cannot believe it.

Today

I:
- traveled from the city to my grandma's wake for seven freaking hours. I took a bus, 2 jeepneys, an fx taxi, and a tricycle. It was bloody tiring.
- have awake for almost 24 hours already, since I woke up yesterday at 4:20 am. This, however, includes the sleep I got in the bumpy ride to here.
- am enjoying a free wi-fi connection, thanks to the chapel's online wake promo, they also have free wi-fi.
- kind of got annoyed and kind of pissed at my cousin when she said that Feist isn't good. I tried to understand her. She is emotional, and tired, and sleepless, and pissed at some other relatives.
- am being bitten the hell away by freaking million mosquitoes.
- am overhearing my two aunts discussion about going to the bathroom together - as in together in the cubicle.
- am not that sleepy yet, even after the loooong day yesterday.
- missed tutorial classes. Boy, it is my starting week and shit has been all over it. I am really going to do my best next week.
- am still thinking about my state of broke-ness.
- realized how tech savvy I am, compared to most of my cousins.
- tried my best to be hospitable, accommodating, and friendly. And I hate it.
- cried over my lola's death.

National Language as the Official Medium of Instruction

The cousin of my friend announced his disregard about Rep. Liza Maza's move to make Filipino the official medium of instruction in Philippine schools. Although I agree at some points (UP proved how Filipino as medium worked wonders), there are still a lot of loopholes in the prospect.

For one, there is no concrete proof that the whole country could speak, and much more understand, Filipino well. There are more than seven thousand islands in the country and there are hundreds of local languages and dialects. I, for one, know areas in Luzon - Luzon where most Tagalogs live - which cannot speak or understand Filipino or Tagalog. Ok, it is arguable that these areas might be remote and totally far-flung, but isn't the whole point of searching for an official medium of instruction about reaching out to those locations? Don't they also deserve to have a say in all of these, since most of these areas are those which are in desperate of the government's attention and support to progress?

I remember one of my professors saying that we should employ the mother tongues in teaching in the primary levels. This way, the children will not get shocked and left behind in case that they couldn't speak English or Filipino. This entails the gradual teaching and developing their other language skills, which will be easier for the teachers since they already have a common ground in communication.

I do think that Rep. Liza Maza's proposal could work, but only in certain areas. I think they should test it first on laboratory or experimental schools (which are really designed for such purposes) before implementing it on full scale. This way they could test the idea and not get lashed in case it didn't work out.

Ok, maybe I am no authority in this thing, but at least I have my opinions with their alternatives. Maybe I'll go read more about it and learn new things or whatever.

Pacquiao downed Hatton in Two rounds

Yea. So I am jumping in the bandwagon, too. But I was really disappointed that Pacquaio almot didn't even break a sweat in beating Ricky Hatton in what was assumed to be the fight of the year. honestly, after Mayweather's trash talking and shit the past few days, I do not even want to gloat that all the Hatton camp could ever do was talk.

I am not even the biggest Pacquaio fan. God knows I am almost wishing for the guy to lose so the country's news and other TV programs will stop featuring his and his family's every freaking move. God also knows how much I wish they would stop showing Aling Dionisia on her most probinsyana modes on TV. Really, its not even cute or amusing. To the press: please stop making fun of the poor woman.

The short fight is really paining me. Its such a pity that tons of people paid a lot of money, and end up watching just two rounds. I bet those in bars haven't even been served with their beers and breakfasts yet!

It is such a pity that Ricky hatton did not live up to everybody's expectations. His career will never be the same again.

Skimmin' 'round

For one, I'm not really that bored. Heaven knows I'm supposed to be doing some writing right now, but as I am the greatest procrastinator in the room, I'm blog-hopping instead.

I'm not really into reading friends' blogs, I don't know why, but today, I decided to take a peek on one of my friends' pages. I haven't finished reading yet, but knowing my Inky, it'll be fun. :)
